The string height has suddenly changed seemingly unprovoked. What can I do?
Wood is a living, breathing material that moves with the temperature and humidity of it's surroundings. Whenever the string height has changed without you changing the tuning and/or string gauges, it is likely that the wood of the neck has moved with changes in temperature or humidity. This is perfectly normal and your preferred setup is restored by adjusting the truss rod in the neck. Adjusting the truss rod is not hard or harmful to your instrument and should be seen as common maintenance.
